As more states warm up to cannabis use, rapid changes to state laws governing the industry have followed suit. Attorneys Gary Smith and Alex Karam shared insight on these laws in a presentation to the Minnesota State Bar.
In “Cannabis Law 101,” Gary and Alex discussed the overall legal landscape of hemp, CBD, and cannabis products, as well as the laws governing manufacturing. They noted how changes in Colorado, California, and other states may impact the ability to sell and market new agricultural, food, and over-the-counter products containing forms of cannabis. The pair also explained how the 2018 Farm Bill affects the way products with cannabis components are labeled and sold nationwide.
A seasoned litigator, advisor, mediator, and arbitrator, Gary is at the forefront of cannabis law in Arizona.
