Having represented the Internal Revenue Service in civil and criminal tax matters while working for the IRS Office of Chief Counsel, Shad has a deep understanding of federal and state tax codes and helps individual and business clients with IRS tax audit support, IRS appeals, tax litigation, offers in compromise and installment agreements.

A member of the Tax section of the State Bar of Arizona, Shad is passionate about helping people navigate a variety of complex tax matters ranging from income tax, partnership tax, corporate tax, transfer tax and tax-exempt organizations to financial crime, tax penalties, forfeitures, tax liens and tax levies. His reputation for excellence in tax law led to his recognition by AzBusiness Leaders in 2020.

Advising clients on tax issues led to counseling them on estate planning, probate, trust administration, guardianships, conservatorships, and qualified domestic relations orders. Over the last two decades, Shad’s dedication and expertise gained him the trust of hundreds of clients in Arizona.

Before joining Guidant, Shad served as a founding partner of the Brown & Jensen law firm. He also built a premier tax planning and problem resolution practice at a prior firm. In addition to earning his law degree from the Mississippi College of Law, Shad earned a Master of Laws in Taxation (LLM) from the University of Florida.

Outside of work, Shad enjoys golfing and spending time with his wife and five children.
