Committed to fostering legitimacy of psychedelics, the Psychedelic Bar Association (PBA) turned to respected industry thought leader Gary Smith to chair its recently formed Legalization and Regulation Committee.
Gary, who has written numerous articles advocating for the proposed Uniform Plant and Fungi Medicine Act in addition to authoring Psychedelica Lex, the preeminent legal manual for those interested in psychedelics and entheogens, will help the organization navigate novel legal and policy issues impacting the emerging sector.
He will lead other accomplished attorneys from around the country in addressing challenging psychedelics-related ethical, policy and legal issues faced by diverse groups in the United States and worldwide. His guidance will help position the organization as a positive, unifying force leading a paradigm shift toward legalization.
A strong proponent of legalizing psychedelic experimentation for the terminally ill, Gary frequently educates the industry and business community by speaking at events, publishing prolifically and through his Psychedelica Lex podcast. He is general counsel to the nation’s oldest multi-racial peyote church and has acted as a legal consultant in numerous cases.
