When PHOENIX Magazine invited members of the State Bar of Arizona to vote on the Valley’s most influential attorneys for its second-annual Top Lawyers List, Gary Smith was once again honored for his statewide impact, community involvement and legal accomplishments.
A seasoned litigator, advisor, mediator and arbitrator, Gary focuses his practice on commercial matters, construction, real estate, cannabis, psychedelics and administrative law. He has represented a wide range of individual and institutional clients in both State and Federal courts, administrative hearings and arbitration.
A prolific writer and speaker, Gary is commonly sought out to share his legal expertise with diverse audiences. He authored two legal treatises on construction law: The Orange Book: The Regulation of Arizona Contractors, 2nd Ed.: Practice and Procedure Before the Arizona Registrar of Contractors and Office of Administrative Hearings and Practice and Procedure Before the Arizona Registrar of Contractors and Office of Administrative Hearings. He also co-authored “Construction Lien Law in Arizona, A Practice Manual.”
Additionally, Gary authored Psychedelica Lex: The Law of Psychedelics, the first comprehensive survey of legislation governing psychedelics and entheogens, and he hosts the popular Psychedelica Lex podcast.
