With eFiling of certain documents in probate cases now allowed for most counties, Scott Jensen wrote an article for Arizona Attorney explaining why eFiling benefits attorneys, clients and courts as well as when and how it will likely be expanded.

eFiling is a great step forward. Scott noted benefits such as increased efficiency, flexibility and cost savings for the attorney and court, plus greater accessibility for underserved populations and mental health patients.

Although eFiling comes with workflow and confidentiality challenges, it will streamline case flow and management throughout the state. Maricopa County and Pima County are not yet able to file probate documents digitally, but Scott consulted Maricopa County Superior Court Clerk Jeff Fine to get his take on the process and when eFiling will be available there.

A member of the Arizona State Bar’s Probate and Trust Law Section, Scott devises estate planning, probate, and trust administration solutions to help individuals, families, and businesses protect and secure their assets for lasting legacies. Scott guides clients through the formation of family limited partnerships and other corporate entities to help create last wills and testaments, trusts, and powers of attorney tailored to their needs and goals.
