As working from home has become prevalent, many businesses face new risks, including cyber threats and safety concerns. Az Business Magazine recently turned to Sam Saks and other legal experts to educate companies on how to protect themselves.
Employees working from home can expose their employers to cyber theft, Sam explains. Not only could this put sensitive data at risk, but also intellectual property. Businesses should work with their IT team to ensure appropriate safeguards, in addition to including a confidential information clause and other language that protects business information in contracts.
Furthermore, Sam says businesses with employees working remotely can avoid workers’ compensation claims by having proper safety policies and procedures in place. These may be outlined in an employee handbook or manual that’s regularly revisited as circumstances, laws and regulations change.
Sam’s practice centers on commercial and tort litigation. He helps many small- to medium-sized businesses navigate complex litigation over partnership, breach of contract and commercial transactions. Sam is also known for his ability to solve insurance disputes for individual and business clients.
