Furthering her commitment to education, Senior Attorney Karen Bentley recently gave a presentation to students at Mesquite High School in Gilbert. She shared valuable advice for those aspiring to become a lawyer and offered a dynamic look at what it takes to succeed in the field.
With more than 85 students in attendance, the session was unique and hands-on, including an interactive exercise where Karen guided the students through a legal analysis of the fable Cinderella. Designed to help students grasp the critical thinking skills necessary for the profession, this activity consisted of the students exploring potential legal issues, such as child labor and wage law violations and the false imprisonment of Cinderella.
Karen, an attorney at Guidant Law Firm, specializes in student loan debt discharges, debt resolution, bankruptcy and litigation. She has been involved in a diverse portfolio of cases, negotiating multiple settlements for student loan discharges and debt resolution in excess of $1,000,000. As a nationally recognized expert in student loan law as well as a former teacher and principal, Karen has a unique expertise in guiding people through the intricacies of student loan discharge, particularly within the context of bankruptcy.
