Seeking to update its membership on Proposition 207, the Arizona State Bar Association invited Gary Smith to speak at an educational seminar.

During his presentation, Gary differentiated between what Pop 207 means for individuals, businesses and the public at large. He shared the various implications for taxes as well as the continuation of an employer’s right to a drug-free workplace and prohibition of enticing children with child-like marijuana products. Gary also explained how the passing of Prop 207 will affect criminally convicted individuals, who will now be able to petition for the expungement of their criminal records. Additionally, he highlighted the ongoing racial disparities when it comes to cannabis-related arrests and offenses.

Gary frequently shares his far-reaching cannabis law insights with media and industry groups. He founded and currently serves as president of the Arizona Cannabis Bar Association and is also a board member at the Arizona Cannabis Chamber of Commerce. He assists cannabis clients in uncovering opportunities, overcoming challenges and remaining compliant.
